A Scavenger Hunt using digital cameras - a field trip to the town square looking for culture (art, history, foreign country, etc.) OR a trip outside looking for certain examples of plants, fungi, or animals
Using Geometer Sketchpad to explore triangles.
Younger grades- something to practice typing skills-perhaps some sort of blogging or IM - give a topic to discuss

I really like your idea about using digital cameras for a scavenger hunt! I know I would have loved to do something like that in grade school. I am sure the kids would really enjoy that project and get involved. In case the school cannot afford a field trip, having the students just go outside on school property would work well too for a science lesson. Great idea!
